Frequently Asked Questions

  • The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

In many ways, a coaching relationship is like taking a road trip. You might travel the same route or roadway a thousand times and see something different every time, depending on who's in the car. Sometimes, that perspective might take you on an alternate travel route. Or it might confirm that you are on the correct route.

As your coach, it's my job to help you see things through a different lens or from a different perspective. So while I won't advise, I will ask you thought-provoking questions. Questions that cause you to ponder situations so you can decide the ultimate course you want to take and the outcomes you want to achieve.

  • It's simple, counseling or therapy is about a diagnosis. Coaching is about the possibility.

Coaching is a forward-looking relationship where we'll partner to clarify your goals, address blocks, and create actionable plans to move you towards desired outcomes.

On the other hand, counseling or therapy is a backward-looking relationship where you work with a therapist to heal deep emotional issues, usually from the past.
